Baby Pineapple

Hi everyone,it's me again,Ezzy :)

Today story is just to update about my garden. We just realized that the pineapple plant already fruited, still at the early stage.Luckily,we did not pull and throw away the plant earlier.

Actually, the pineapple plants were planted by my PIL.This is my first time seeing the baby pineapple that comes in red and a little bit of purple colour. There are two at the side of our house.I am not sure when we can harvest and how long does it takes to be matured.I am not a fan of pineapple, seldom eat it.But I hope, this plant will produce a good fruit and taste sweet compared the one sold in the market.

Sirap Biru@Bunga Telang

I've been planted Butterfly Peas or Bunga Telang back few months ago.Out of 10 seeds, only 2 managed to survive and grow well. The flowers are used as natural colouring for nasi kerabu, syrup and other else.I've cooked my first try nasi kerabu using this blue flowers. But today,I would like to share a recipe for "Sirap Bunga Telang" which I made yesterday :)

The recipe is actually taken from blog "Tanamsendiri.com", however I've made some adjustment since I have extra flowers.

Ingredients:-

  • 70 butterfly peas flowers
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 7 cups of water
  • 2 pandan leaves
Put all of the ingredients in a pot.Heat them at medium heat until it boiled.Turn off the fire.Let the syrup turns cold, filter them and keep it in bottle.
The way to serve:-
Just add 4-5 spoons or more of the syrup to a jug of plain water and ice block. You can also add a little bit of lime.juice, the blue colour will turns to purple.Optional to add mint leaves for a refreshment flavour

Spot the chillies

My chili plant has been grown up so well lately.I have ten plants overall.I planted them separately in three different places;two are in the individual vase,4 are in long vase/container and 6 more on the ground. From my observation,I found that the plants in long vase grow the most healthy. They produce countless of chillies. I shall wait till they turn red and they are ready to be eaten  :)

Kangkung & Dinner

Assalamualaikum to all,
It's raining this morning.Alhamdullilah,syukur.I can save my time to water my plant today and spend time to put some update on this blog.Anyway, today I would like to share about kangkung that I planted before I left for my raya holiday. As you can see below photo, the kangkung grows really well in the container.I bought this seeds from En Iskandar, owner of tanamsendiri.com.The seeds produce longer & bigger  leaves compared to the one I bought at Mydin. They grow fast day by day.

Kangkung before harvest

So,I harvest my kangkung for dinner last two night. It's really fresh and you can only get it when grow on your own.I cooked Kangkung Goreng Belacan and it's more than enough for two of us.
Kangkung for kangkung goreng belacan, curry leave for beef curry and ulam raja for ulam-ulaman.

My simple dinner yet so yummy with this kampung style;beef curry, kangkung goreng belacan, ulam raja and budu.
nyum3 :)

Let me pen off first and get ready for work. Will update soon.See ya :)

1st Harvest Daikon

Masih belum terlambatkan nak ucapkan Selamat Hari Raya buat muslimin & muslimat sekalian?
Anyway, entry kali ni berkaitan dengan tuaian pertama daikon kami.In the previous post,as you all know,i am not sure when to harvest this daikon.

2 tiny daikons. Enuff for 2 people.

So,Ezzy ada jugak la google-google kot-kot dapat resepi yang bestkan. Most of the recipes, dalam bentuk soup. So,I give a try.Tapi part yang paling tak best sekali, masa mengupas kulit daikon ni haaa, mak aih bau dia busuknya.Sampai rasa pening kepala.Aishh, biar betul.Rasa risau pulak nak masak, kang nanti dalam sup pon bau busuk lagi.Lepas tu,ada kawan di Facebook bagi tips rebus dengan sup tulang ayam dan tumbuk lada putih.

Alhamdullilah, bila dah jadi sup,bau busuk tu pon dah hilang.

Daikon : Lobak Putih

Daikon, white radish or lobak putih. They are same thing come with few types of name.I did not record the date when i sow the daikon seed. But now i think it is almost 2 months. From my reading and research, daikon is a fast grow vegetable where it takes around 2 months to be harvested.

Now i can see that some of my daikon already growing where it shows its root getting bigger.
Looking at the size of the daikon,i can call it as baby daikon. It is still small for me.
I will wait for another 2 weeks to see progress of its growing.
